Evening English Book Group (28 Oct 2026)

Wed, 28 Oct 2026 18:00:00 GMT

Evening English Book Club

Welcome to the Evening Book Group! We meet one evening a month from 19:00 - 21:00 to discuss a book we have previously chosen that meets our criteria of relating to “cross-cultural” topics. That is a wide definition that encompasses national cultures, caste, gender, lifestyle or anything else the group accepts as exploring the cultural aspects of a particular group. We will decide each month’s book at the meeting in the preceding month.

We will meet at members' homes on a rotating basis. There will be a limit of 10 participants each month to allow for better discussion and so that more members will have a chance to host in their homes.

We will also meet on Zoom

Please register for either in-person (max. 7) or via Zoom (max 3).

Living in Germany (29 Oct 2026)

Thu, 29 Oct 2026 10:00:00 GMT

Living in Germany

A new name, a new focus. Let’s start with lunch together and a conversation about what we already know about how to live in Germany and what do we still want to learn. For example: How can we manage holiday traditions from home? What’s been the biggest impact of living in Germany that you didn’t anticipate? How do we stay connected to family around the globe? Bring your burning question and we’ll figure out how to connect to answers in the coming Fall through Spring.

I’ll have a salad base of greens. Please bring something to add to the salad (carrot?) or have with the salad (bread?). Or just come along, all is okay.

Please register.

PRO AGING – Vitality Through Play (04 Nov 2026)

Wed, 04 Nov 2026 09:00:00 GMT

Minimum Required is 5 people- Max 12. Please note when registering that you can attend.

A Vitality Workshop for Adults Ages 70 and Older

Staying vital as we age is about much more than physical fitness. Movement, balance, coordination, mental agility, creativity, self-expression and meaningful connection all play an important role in maintaining well-being and quality of life.

PRO AGING – Vitality Through Play brings these elements together in a lively, playful two-hour workshop specifically designed for adults ages 70 and older. Using movement, voice, music, theater games, storytelling and improvisation, we activate body and mind in an enjoyable and supportive setting. Participants move and use their voices, practice balance and coordination, engage memory and concentration, explore different roles and situations, and experience the joy of being creative together. Theater is our tool – vitality is our focus.

This is not a conventional acting class. There is nothing to perform and nothing to get “right.” No theater experience or special talent is needed. The exercises are accessible, adaptable and designed to encourage mobility, confidence, spontaneity, expression and connection – while having fun. At its heart, PRO AGING is about staying engaged with life: moving, thinking, creating, laughing, expressing yourself and connecting with others.

The workshop is specifically designed around the needs and experiences of adults ages 70 and older. Younger participants are also warmly welcome if they enjoy engaging with older adults in a respectful, caring and natural way.

Workshop at a Glance

Duration: 2 hours
Group: 5–12 women
Participation: Free of charge - donations at the workshop welcome
Experience: No previous theater experience required
Focus: Vitality · Movement · Balance · Coordination · Mental Agility · Voice · Creativity · Expression · Connection · Joy

Facilitators: Ergün Cevik is a filmmaker, journalist and founder of the PRO AGING concept and the PRO AGING Theater Group in Munich.

Andrea Fultz is a performer, singer, voice teacher and systemic coach with extensive teaching and stage experience in Germany and the United States.

Come as you are. Move, play, laugh, create and connect – and keep discovering what is possible at every age.

We have found a family-friendly tree-planting project from the (non-profit) Bergwaldprojekt e.V. and Bayerische Staatsforsten. Together they organise sustainable forestry projects since many years, working with forestry experts and willing citizens. This tree-planting project is located in the Bavarian forest south of Munich, at Forstenrieder Park (Unterdill area), and is specifically designed and organised for local citizens to participate i.e. families and people of all ages, all generations!

The work is practical but usually adapted so everyone can help, NO experience is needed! and it is FREE of charge. However, we would like to collect 5€ from participants for the guide and kitchen staff, and towards some financial support to the organization.

We should have an (English speaking) expert to guide and help us on the day, and they provide the necessary tools and small sapling trees. The Bergwald projects kitchen team will provide a warm biologisch vegetarian breakfast and a warm soup for lunch, usually sourced from local produce. Coffee, tea and water are available all day...and they say, also a little chocolate....

You will need weather appropriate clothing, like sturdy shoes, weatherproof rain jacket incase of drizzle or light showers, and a smile!

For further and fuller information on the Bergwald e.V. organisation and their work in many different environmental conservation projects within Germany, and for all the How’s, Where’s and Why’s please check out their website here :-https://www.bergwaldprojekt.de/bergwaldprojekt-ev-english
